Happy 4th Birthday Shelby and Avery

Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girls... I still can not wrap my mind around everything that happened the evening before and the morning of your births. To see you guys sitting on the couch eating (more) cookies and watching tv has me in tears. The three of us (Shelby, Avery and Kristin) really did beat death that morning... if it wasn't for the skilled doctors who finally realized what was going on for all of us, things certainly would have taken a different turn... but thankfully God was watching out for all of us that morning, and you (and I) am here together with you daddy, Delainey and Brody too. God is good... we are so blessed.

Shelby:
You are an amazing little girl... no matter what comes your way you go at it head on and you figure out YOUR way to get it done. These past 18 months have been a struggle for you but you are coming out/through stronger and braver and tougher than you were before. There is a reason you are so very strong willed... you need it and God knew that. We are so very thankful to get to be your family. Mommy, Daddy, Delainey, Avery and Brody love you more than you can ever fully know or understand. HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY SHELBY!!! WE LOVE YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH!!!

Avery:
Sweet precious Avery... you started out in our family as being the 'trouble maker' with all the acid reflux, ear infections etc and now you are the one of the kiddos that requires the least amount of time or attention. It is far to easy for us to 'forget' when it is your turn or when its your time because you just want everyone to be happy. Your tender little heart is wounded far to easy but yet you still have that precious smile on your face. You are our little mommy making certain that everyone else is taken care of putting yourself last...You are such a strong and amazing little girl. You are our 'go with the flow' girlie and our family is so very lucky to have you in it. Mommy, Daddy, Delainey, Shelby and Brody love you so very much girlie girl...more than you know... HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY AVERY!!! WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brody

Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet baby boy... but I guess you aren't a baby anymore...*news flash bucko...you will ALWAYS be my baby just like your sisters will* you are a toddler. A walking, talking, running, screaming full out toddler... you are already such a little man I can't believe it.

You are an amazing little boy who has brought so much joy to our lives in the short 2 years that you have been here... you know just how to smile to make us all feel better but you can push the button that sends us all over the edge. 2 years ago you came into this world quietly and with just an awe of everything going around you and now you are in it all the way. You are the precious little boy who has completed our family... You are a miracle...

Keep on reaching for those stars baby boy... our sweet beautiful beautiful baby boy... you are amazing...

Happy Birthday my precious baby girl! I can not believe that you are  years old. You were our take home baby...you were the little 5 lbs 6ozs miracle that changed our world/lives forever.

6 years ago today you came into this world bright eyed and ready to take on the world...and you have. You have taken every obstacle that has been given to you and you have rocked it baby girl! Keep it up precious baby girl... I know that you are not technically a baby anymore, but you will forever be OUR BABY GIRL PRINCESS :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAD/DADDY!!!

Today is Chad's birthday... man he is old ;) I can say that because now we are in the 6 months of the year in which my husband is a full 4 years older than me. It is also the portion in which his brother reminded him shortly after we started dating that when Chad was graduating from high school in 1995 that I was STILL IN THE 8TH grade ;) It has been the cause of many jokes pointed at Chad... :) All in jest of course... This is a picture of the cake BEFORE the girls put sprinkles on it... yes we know words are spelled wrong but you only get so many of certain letters...

We have a tradition in our family (well we started it since both Chad and I hated our birthdays... Chad still hates his for reasons I will not share, but for me it is because my birthday is on halloween...jeez let me think...free candy or some lamo kid's birthday party... umm yup). We (meaning the non-birthday people) make a cake for the birthday person and wake them up with the decorated cake singing Happy Birthday to them.... the above picture is of the girls putting the sprinkles on the cake...

Waking Daddy up to give him his present... he got the new Guitar Hero for the Wii... all I could think the entire time he was opening the gift was of the commercials "Put your pants on Pops" and "You didn't think we were gonna let them dance around in our underwear"...

We had an awesome day together as a family...although...Chad did make one small request for next year... remind him the night before his birthday so he can wear a shirt to bed ;)

Happy Birthday Uncle Michael

We want to take time to wish our special Uncle Happy Birthday.... Uncle Michael shares a birthday with Shelby and Avery.... funny story about that.

When we learned we were having twins our perinatologist told us to prepare for a premature arrival of our twins (because of our history with pregnancy induced hypertension, pre-eclampsia and also just because of the multiple birth) the first words out of my mouth were... "Please not on Michael's birthday".... not because we didn't want our children to share a birthday with Mike but because Delainey already shared a birthday with Chad's grandmother, my cousin, (and now her twin cousins as well) but because Michael's birthday is the day after Christmas....

Guess I should have kept my mouth shut huh?? ha!

Anyways....

Happy Birthday Brody...

I can not believe that our baby boy is one year old already… I mean wow! I know that when we first learned we were pregnant with him that we went through some interesting emotions (we were told after the twins that we shouldn’t have any more biological children because the medical condition I developed during our pregnancy with them can get worse earlier in additional pregnancies), nevermind the complete shell shock of getting pregnant all by ourselves… but we got over the shock and fear very quickly… that was until we learned that our pregnancy was going to be a set of identical twins…then again the few hit me (twelve fold…) and just as we had become ‘ok’ with that and had realized we would now have to drive a small bus, our twin pregnancy was over. Thankfully Brody stuck and now we have the most amazing little boy that any family could ever want.


He is the happiest baby that I have ever known, in fact Chad often says “are you sure he is ours, because that kid is too damn happy to belong in this family”…


He is currently crawling and climbing all over EVERYTHING… he has absolutely no desire to walk and often when we attempt to stand him up, he gently and gracefully sits down… He has developed this ‘delight’ scream that can peel paint, but this is often reserved for when Shelby is showing her little brother just a BIT too much love… He is still a peanut and is under 20lbs and is only 26 ½ inches tall, but what can I say, we grow midgets in this house--- well except for Delainey who is already up to my chest, must have been the formula ;)


He doesn’t have a check up until into January, so I will have to give you a better follow up on that then, but until then this little look into the past year will have to do… enjoy!

I can not believe that my 'baby" girl is 5 years old already. Wow! I can not wrap my mind around that fact just yet... I am hoping that it is because it is still early :)

Delainey had brought so much joy to our lives and from the second she was born I couldn't imagine my life without her. She has brought so much healing and peace to our family...you can't even begin to imagine.

Seeing the looks on the faces of your parents when they see a picture of their 3 boys, their wives and their 7 grandchildren all in one photo.... PRICELESS!!!

This past weekend we were in the Twin Cities for my father-in-law's 60th birthday.... His gift from us (all the kids) was a family photo session. Mike recieved family photos of each of his boys and their families, a photo of 'just' the grandkids and then a photo of all of us (13 people...WOW). HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!! We love you!!!

This year my friend and I are the same age....well unless of course she finally decides to NOT turn 28 again... LOL Although, if she has decided NOT to age....then I feel that it is my responsiblity to celebrate being 27 again so that I can remain the "youngest" of our circle of friends!

Brody is 6 Months Old

I can not believe that my baby boy is already 6 months old (well he was last week Wednesday). The time is going so fast and it really hits me that he will be our last biological child. He is growing and changing so much every day. He is such a happy baby and bring so much to our family at such a young age.

He is really starting to get fun now! He loves playing with his big sisters...well as well as a 6 month old can play. He loves it when Shelby plays "pe boo" with him. And you can always count on a smile from him if your day is going even slightly sour. Chad often says... "Good thing he looks so much like me, because otherwise I'd think we got the wrong baby"...

He had his 6-month check up yesterday and he is currently 18lbs (70th%) and 25 1/2 inches (25%). It is so weird to me having a child that is on the charts after our struggles with Shelby and Avery. Although I have to say that the "wow...he is a big boy" is almost (ALMOST) as annoying as "wow, they are tiny"... But on the bright side...we are VERY close to having to buy only one size of diapers... LOL!!!

God is good and our precious children are proof of that every day!!!
