Today the Bismarck Tribune came to the house to take a few pictures of our family for an upcoming story for the paper regarding us having the honor of being the North Dakota State 2010 Ambassador Family for the March of Dimes.... well as the photographer arrived and we were trying to figure out where would be a good spot for the pictures etc ONE of the Krumwiede Kidlets says "oh mom.... Why do we have to be FAMOUS??".... start your guessing...
The shoot went well and the photographer was fun and the kids had a blast...we will let you know when we do when the story is printed :)

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!
Last night were the two official "kick off" events for our March for Babies 2010 event in Bismarck. I am really excited about it. We were able to get together as teams and discuss some amazing fundraising ideas etc. We got some cool ideas and were able to share our ideas with other family teams as well. The goal for the Bismarck walk is $70,000 and after last year I really think that is a doable amount to raise.... our family team goal is $5,000... it's a stretch especially since Brian and Tracy will not be able to attend the walk with us this year, but we know that they are with us in spirit.

March for Babies Fundraiser creation leads to a give-a-way contest
A few weeks ago I was browsing the March of Dimes North Dakota Chapter site on Facebook and I saw someone post a picture to the most amazingly cute dresses... I HAD TO HAVE THEM... so I went to the link and of course they weren't in my kidlets' sizes so I contacted the beautifully talented seamstress who created them and was able to place an order for 3 dresses in my girls' sizes and a matching hoodie for Brody... I can't wait for the order to arrive and once it does I will be taking some super cute pictures of my kiddlets and sending them her way :)
But through that order I also found her blog...and it was upon finding her blog that I found she has a contest/give-away going on right now :) So you have got to go over to her blog and check it out... She is super talented... HEAD OVER TO HER BLOG RIGHT NOW AND ENTER

Sending my child to school and THINKING she is safe
In this morning's local newspaper was the FOLLOWING story:
Bismarck Students Report Man Photographing Recess:
Police say students at a Bismarck elementary school saw a man taking photos of the playground while children were at recess last week.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said employees at Pioneer Elementary School, 1400 Braman Ave., reported at 1:50 p.m. Friday that several students and a school employee had seen a man standing beyond the northeast corner playground fence taking photographs.
The man never approached or spoke to any children on the playground.
The school employee who noticed the man began to walk towards him but made it only half way across the playground before the man got in a vehicle that drove away, Buschena said.
He said children reported the man got into the passenger side of a black vehicle. The police report did not say what type of vehicle was involved but said it might have had a roof rack of some sort. Another man was driving the vehicle, Buschena said.
Officers responded and did not find anyone in the area.
The man was described as white and in his 50s. He was balding and wearing a leather jacket and “nice clothing,” according to the police report.
The case is not under investigation at this time, but anyone with information can call the Bismarck Police Department at 223-1212 or 224-TIPS (224-8477).
This story is probably shocking in it's own right.... but what is COMPLETELY shocking about it is that WE AS THE PARENTS WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT!!!! The TEACHERS were not even notified of the incident. When I asked Delainey's teacher about it earlier this morning her response was "My daughter told me she saw it on the news last night".... This is NOT what I expect from the people who I entrust with my MIRACLES every day...
Here is the email that I sent to pretty much the ENTIRE Bismarck Public School System Administration:
Dear Bismarck Public School Staff:
My daughter Delainey Krumwiede is a kindergartener at Pioneer Elementary in Bismarck and up until this morning I was proud of the staff not only at her school but of the school system as a whole.
First off I want to applaud the recess staff and the children who notified the recess staff of the person taking pictures… GOOD JOB STAFF and KIDS!!! But this is where my joy for the situation ends.
Once Dr. Delorme was notified of the situation and the police were brought in the parents should have been informed somehow, some way. I am not saying I should have been called personally, but this is what we have emergency notification for, and even if you don’t want to use THAT system the least the Pioneer Administration could have done was take 5 minutes to type up a note and run off a bunch of copies to at least TELL US WHAT WENT ON!!!
The parents of the students should not have had to count on the Television stations and the Bismarck Tribune to learn about this situation. SHAME ON YOU ADMINISTRATION!!! The person taking pictures may have been innocently taking pictures of children enjoying a fun winter day, but as the people we ENTRUST WITH OUR MIRACLES you should have at least informed us. Where was the notification for the parents who’s children walk home from school? Thankfully I pick my daughter up from school every day, but she is one of the few children who have this luxury….
I am strongly disappointed in you and the way that this situation was handled and it makes me wonder, would I have been notified had my DAUGHTER BEEN KIDNAPPED that afternoon, or would I have had to learn about it on the evening news?
How is this situation going to be fixed? How are you going to regain our trust?

SPD - please help in recognizing this disorder.
Many of you may not know that SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) hasn't been recogzined as an official disorder, so it makes it VERY difficult for parents to get treatment.
By now, you may know that Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is on the list of conditions still under consideration for the DSM-5, the reference work that physicians and others use to diagnose mental health disorders and many developmental disorders.
Did you know the American Psychiatric Association (APA) is soliciting comments on recognizing these conditions?
The Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation is coordinating an international comment campaign to show the APA there is widespread, informed support for including SPD in the revised Diagnostic and Statistical Manual that will be published in 2013 (DSM-5).
YOU can help promote recognition of Sensory Processing Disorder by submitting a comment on the APA website!
To make commenting as simple as possible, we have created a web page that includes instructions for reaching the comment area of the APA site. You’ll also find topic suggestions/sample language for different groups of supporters (parents, OTs, physicians, diagnosticians, etc.) based on what we know the APA is considering in their final deliberations.
Use our ideas or use your own - it doesn't matter. What matters is commenting. The most persuasive comments will be the ones that provide concrete, evidence-based information and/or observation based on your own personal or clinical experience.
Every letter counts! The deadline for commenting is April 20, but please act now. Numbers matter. A mountain of immediate, supportive comments will make a significant impression on the committee.
And please help us pass the word! Kids say the darndest things...
I am not sure if it has been because the kids have just been a bit more wound up this week or if I am just paying closer attention to the weird things they have been saying but here are some of the 'winners' that the kids have come up with this week:
- I am glad we don't have this many kids at my house so we don't have to have a mini-van- said by a friend's child as he had to crawl to the back of our van to get buckled up....
- Mom....REAL moms work all the time- said by Shelby when she questioned by a friend's child wasn't here to be watched and I said that she didn't work today....
-What the **** - yep... my 2 year old now drops the f-bomb, and used this phrase in context... not pretty.
- Its naughty- this was the 2 year old's response when I asked him what he just said

My "stalker" flowers....
Me: Thank you for the flowers, they are beautiful
Chad: What ?
Me: I said thank you for the flowers you sent...they are beautiful.
Chad: I didn't send you any flowers....
Me: You didn't???
Chad: Why would I waste money on flowers??
Me: oh... ok
Chad: Does that mean you got flowers?
Me: yes...
Chad: Well from who??
Me: If I knew don't you think I would have called them rather than you???
Chad: yea
- end of conversation
So this got me thinking so I called the florist... they were no hope. Got a few messages on my cell phone asking about the flowers from a number that I didn't recognize... starting to get kind of creeped out. A friend later called from their own phone to ask if I liked my flowers... THANK GOODNESS... but they are still dubbed the "stalker" flowers...

"not me" Monday...
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Because I really need a 'ticks me off Tuesday" and it is only Monday this "not me" Monday is going to sound a bit different than the past ones, but here it goes.
It certainly was NOT ME who got pissed off because someone in my house spent money on something that we had agreed would not be purchased.
It was NOT ME who got mad when her entire week was rescheduled to include an extra stop to 'baby sit' each morning so that others are not inconvienced.
It was NOT ME who got royally livid when I learned that I WILL be volunteering for something that I had purposely stated before that I wanted NO PART of.
It was NOT ME who was completely seeing red when I walked in the house last night after going to a friends' home to watch the game to find 1)my house destroyed 2)my children still up (it was after 10pm) and 3)none of them had been bathed.
It was NOT ME who came to the computer this morning to transfer money into another checking account (and in a rather good mood mind you) only to have that mood shift quite dramatically when I saw that yet ANOTHER non-agreed upon purchase had been made.
So Happy Monday folks.... it's gotta get better!

REMEMBER my call for my movie buddies???
Do you all remember THIS post a few months back?? Well it's time ladies (and guys if you want) to join me... I just received notice today from Netflix that ADAM is being sent to me today :) I am so excited. So let's get to planning this movie night because I WANT TO SEE this movie... bring a snack to share and your own beverages and we can have a good ole fashioned girls (unless guys want to join us) night... email me if you want to come, I am thinking this Friday evening.
