Shrink for Good Finale

Today is the FINAL day of the Shrink for Good Challenge. This challenge wasn't just about ME losing weight and losing it for good, it was also about an amazing community project in which Weight Watchers and Share Our Strength teamed up for an even more amazing cause to END CHILDHOOD HUNGER IN AMERICA. The idea of this challenge was for every pound lost, you were to donate 1lb of food. at the 'ending' weigh in last week I was at 238 even which means that I lost 7.6lbs for the challenge, so I donate 8 lbs of food. I ended up donating more (and some paper products as well) just because this is such an amazing cause that is near and dear to my heart. But at my weigh in this morning sadly (but not shockingly) I am back at 240.6... I know what I did and what I need to avoid doing that again (but damn it was fun)...

Here is the food that I donated (and if you look in the back you can see my paper products as well) to the local food bank... I know that it will go to a good cause...

Here is to the next challenge and for all of us working toward a common goal of getting healthy and ending childhood hunger... because while I know that this activity was supposed to be just for this challenge... I plan to continue it on with my weight loss journey.

Shrink for Good Finale

Today is the FINAL weigh in for the Shrink for Good Challenge over at the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans
And I am proud to say that my weight today was the same as it was on Wednesday 238 lbs. That means that for this challenge I have lost a total of 7.6 lbs.
I didn't realize that we were supposed to take pictures of our food but I know that Melissa took some pictures of the food that I brought to her house last night for our amazing LOSE FOR GOOD house party, which was a blast... sadly pictures and video have already been released on the internet... I just hope no one recognizes me in the videos... :) But at least I weight 7.6 lbs less in them than I would have at the beginning of the challenge.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this challenge... you all did AMAZING and just think, not only did we lose weight, but we did it for an amazing cause too....

Weight in Wednesday SFG Weigh in 7

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!

It is Wednesday and we all know what that means… WEIGH IN DAY!!!
When I started this challenge my weight was 245.6 lbs and my weight today is 238, on the nose. That means that so far for this challenge I have lost 7.6lbs. I of course am completely stoked and excited about the weight loss, but more importantly I am excited about the fact that my 7 lbs weight loss isn’t just for me… it is for a cause to end childhood hunger.
My goals for this week are the same as last but with one added piece (well two actually) be careful with the food choices I have Thursday and Friday and be careful at Melissa’s house Friday night…it could be bad .
Good luck everyone and remember together we can FIGHT CHILDHOOD HUNGER and LOSE FOR GOOD.

Come on everyone :) You know you wanna :)

Check out the AMAZING t-shirt that I won during one of the previous give-a-ways... OH..and btw it is a size Large :) Doesn't fit perfect by any means, and I hadn't washed it yet, but here's hoping it still fits when it comes out of the washing machine :)

Weigh in Wednesday SFG Week 6

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!
It's Wednesday and you know what that means... time for my big ole butt to hit the scale and then hit the pantry so that I can add food to my bin to deliver to my local food bank for the Lose for Good Campaign.
This week I am at 239.2 so that means that I am down 1.6# this week and a total of 6.4# for the entire challenge. I am kind of bummed but I know that at least I was able to say good bye to the 240's again after my gain last week.
Same goals as last week, but I had add a fun new element and that is that I joined the EA Sports 5K challenge. Thankfully I have a local motivator and she will hopefully be kicking my ass into gear soon since I haven't run in over two months and the race day is November 8th... can I even possibly be able to accomplish this??? With Melissa on my case side I know I will be scared shitless and VERY afraid coached properly and will accomplish the goal.

Good luck everyone!!!

Weigh in Wednesday SFG Week 4

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!
Today is weigh in day so if you have joined the challenge then get in motion and get signed up... if not there is still plenty of time to get signed up over at the Sisterhood... the more the merrier.
As for me this week, all I can say is GOOD BYE 240s... yep.. I finally got under 240lbs. My weight this morning was 238 lbs. That is a loss of 3.8 lbs this week and a total loss of 7.6 lbs for the challenge so far. That is like 3% body mass loss *I think I did the math right*...
My goals this week are the same as last:
  • Stay on track with exercise
  • journal food and stick to my points
  • water water and more water
  • no late night snacks

Good luck everyone! I know you can do it!!!

Weigh in Wednesday SFG Week 3

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!
As you know, it is Wednesday and there for it is also weigh in day for the Shrink For Good project/challenge that is going on over at the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. While this is week 3 of the challenge you have got to know that the more the merrier is certainly the philosophy of this group so if you are up for losing weight and sharing the wealth for the hungry people in our country that be sure to stop over at the sisterhood to check it out.

The scale this morning read 241.4, which means that I am down a pound from last week and 4.2lbs for the challenge. I know that a pound certainly doesn’t seem like a lot but honestly I really think that my slow and steady for this challenge is the way for me to win this race (my personal race that is)… I have heard time and time again that it is better and healthier to lose weight at a slow and steady pace because you have a better chance of keeping it off long term, and that is certainly my goal. I want to lose for good…not because of the weight watchers program challenge but for myself too.

My goals for this week are:
· Back on track with exercise
· Journal my food and stick to my points
· Water water and more water
· No more snacks after 8pm

Those are good for me this week …let's see if I can meet these goals and if I can then I will add more next week.

Weigh in Wednesday SFG Week 1

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!

We started the Shrink for Good Challenge on August 30th. This is an amazing partnership with Weight Watchers and Also Share our Strength. You can learn more about it by visiting the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans HERE
For my Sunday weigh in I weighed in at 245.6lbs and today I am at 243.6. This is a loss of two pounds since Sunday... don't be concerned by this 'quick' loss as there are several attributing factors such as water weight, previous sunflower seed consumption etc... I know this is just water weigh and know that in order to reach my true goals I am going to have to work at it.
For my personal goals this week I would like to:
  1. eat my 5 servings of vegetables each day
  2. exercise and follow my 30 day EA Active Challenge *Learn more about this Sistherhood challenge HERE*
  3. Get more sleep... this is a big one. With us all adjusting to new schedules (I have 3 kids in school now, plus my own schedule for classes etc) sleep is always the first thing to go for this mama of 4 busy kids -- Do I get to count my husband as my 5th child??? I mean seriously sometimes his 'schedule/tasks' consume more of my time than the kids...or maybe it is just that they listen better.
  4. Take a few hours each day for me... whether it be during exercise, doing school work or just a few moments before bed... I need to take care of myself or all else is going to fail.
  5. DRINK MORE WATER.
  6. Follow points w/ Weight Watchers
  7. Journal food and exercise.

I think this are attainable goals for me this week... You can do them too! Come on... you know you can :) Good luck everyone... and remember lets LOSE FOR GOOD!!!
