I have officially lost my mind....

Saturday started like I knew it would... Chad and my uncle had made plans to rent an arrator (I probably killed that but it doesn't really matter for the story ha!)... Chad goes and picks up the machine *he was the one who rented it* and does our yard first, so I wake to the delightful noise that wonderful machines makes--- no biggie. Get up and start my day. Chad had 'claimed' Saturday as "Chad day" (which is only fair...he deserves time alone doing his own thing)... so I have the kids all sitting at the breakfast table eating when the phone rings... its Chad...I pick it up thinking to myself "This is weird...he normally doesn't call on a Chad day".... Here is how the conversation went:

"Kristin, I just met this person who has a German Shepherd for sale. Can we get it? It is a steal and the dog looks amazing"....

"Are you kidding me??? Like I need another thing to do right now"...

"Come on Kristin, we talked about when the 'right' dog came along that we would get another dog so Kyper (current dog) would have some one to play with and she had been so lonely since we had to give Brownie (Delainey's old dog who was WAY to hyper for Shelby and her SPD)."

"I need to think about it... ok?"

"Ok."

Chad promptly comes home and tells Delainey about this new puppy that he thinks we should get and that he can't wait to take us all to meet her... *TOTALLY DIRTY POOL in my book* So of course we load up the kids and go meet this dog. She really is a good dog, even Brody liked her. She warmed right up to the kids and even gave Shelby a huge puppy kiss (which Shelby was ok with)... this of course was a HUGE plus in the dog's favor.

I was proud of myself and my strength... I talked to the person selling the dog and told him straight up..." We have another GSD at home who has some issues because of past abuse, we have 4 kids 5 and under and I need to think about this. My husband and children are very serious about the dog, is there any way we can place a 'hold' on her over the weekend so that I can think about it and properly weigh my options".... I was actually shocked to hear the person say "Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Give me a call Tuesday because I won't be around for the holiday."

So all weekend I have had a 32 year old, a 5 year old two 3 year olds and heck even the 1 year old was asking about the puppy and if I had thought about it. I was still thinking this morning and actually leaning more towards no than yes because frankly I don't need another thing on my plate right now... well that was until the guy called me this am. The conversation went like this:

"Hello, Kristin. This is X and I have a couple here who want to buy the puppy and take her right now, but since you guys were here and placed the hold I need to notify you first, so I was just wondering what you wanted to do"

"I know that my husband and my kids really wanted to purchase the puppy"

"Is there any chance you can come and place a deposit on the dog and then pick her up later if you really want her?"

"I can't come down, but can I give you my debit card over the phone?"....

So you guessed it... the Krumwiede Six (seven counting the dog) is now the Krumwiede Six (eight counting the two dogs).... yep I have done lost my mind!

So without further ado, Please let us introduce you to:

Khloe - born 2/4/09 15 weeks old
We have to come up with a big fancy name since she will be registered
but she will go by Khloe

She is definately going to be a big dog... her paws are HUGE and she weighs more than Brody hands down... Chad and her starting training classes in July, but he is doing some regular/easy stuff with her already tonight.
Kyper isn't to impressed with the 'new kid', but she is already warming up to her. I think the fact that Khloe thought that Kyper's kennel was for her was the step that started them in the wrong direction. Chad put both of the dogs in the outdoor kennel while the rest of us played in the yard and Kyper is already 'telling' Khloe that this is HER world and that SHE better recognize it... I think Khloe get the hint soon :)
