Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has offered up all the support and prayers this past week. I had to giggle at a few of the emails I have received from family and friends though. Because I have chosen not to share all the details of the situation on the blog (because there is another person involved) people have been making assumptions, so I am going to clear up some of the assumptions that we have received emails about :

  • no Chad and I are not having marital problems, although we did have a long discussion to make sure that were weren't because we received this comment/mail more than once... nor are we getting divorced (although if we were, I highly doubt that I'd be taking the time to blog about it as my children would be my first priority)
  • all the children are healthy as are we
there are a few more, but they were a bit more personal than I am willing to share....but please know that what I am going through really seems to be only affecting me and hopefully I will have it figured out in a days.

But thank you all again for all the support and prayers...

Emotional eating...

Emotional eating is going to be the death of me. I have been going through some emotional ‘stuff’ the past few days and sadly it has brought out a side of me that I don’t like. I wish rather than reaching for the Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs that my MIL brought for us for Easter that I would go for a walk/run instead. I have been more aware of the eating today and each time I go to stuff my face because I am confused, I have done a few reps of my stairs ( I have been walking up and down our basement steps for at home exercise) and it seems to be working, but with lunch time coming up, I know that I am going to blow it somehow!

Backlash...

I think that it is interesting that people are allowed to push their feelings onto others and that 90% of people respect the fact that people simply have different views on the subject than them and that they need to agree to disagree, but there is always that 10% that feels that there way is the only way and that if you don't agree with them you are wrong or ignorant. Well today I was hit right in the face because of my post "How would you feel"...

I am not going to get into details because this is a very hard/emotional time for me (not my post but what is going on behind the scenes). I want so badly to go into 'my side' of this and say what is on my mind on this but I can't. I need to look at the whole picture and try and evaluate what I want/need to do for myself. The part that makes me most sad is that the choices I have to make will not only affect me but my children as well. I don't even feel comfortable talking about this on my own blog for goodness sakes... BUT I am proud of myself for doing the mature thing and taking a good long look at the whole situation and not just going off with what I am thinking right now and allowing the hurt/anger to speak rather than what I really want/need.

All in all it just proves one of my favorite quotes "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than liked for who I am not"....

Isn't it Ironic....

Today YAHOO is featuring a story that says that Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton are distance cousins of the Pitt/ Jolie crew. You can find the story http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080325/ap_on_el_pr/candidates_genealogy here! It was a good read but I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I read that Barack is distantly related to General Lee (as in the Confederate General in the Civil War....) that relation must be on his mother's side ;) Barack is also related to 6 presidents to include George W Bush and Dick Cheney... wonder if that will sway some of the Bush supporters to the Obama campaign ;)

Oh yea, and Clinton is a distant cousin of Madonna, Celine Dion (that didn't shock me actually) and Alanis Morisette... :)

How would you feel...

How would you feel if you couldn't get in contact with your fiancée after getting "that" feeling in the pit of your stomach that tells you something is seriously wrong? How would you feel if the airline would not release any information to you about your fiancée simply because your wedding was only a few weeks away so you were 'technically' not married? How would you feel not being allowed to help plan the funeral service of the person you had just spent 6 years of your life with and had planned to spend the rest of your life with? How would you feel if you could not contact the mortgage company of your own home (you and your fiancée had purchased the home together but since you had less than perfect credit it went into his/her name) when your fiancée died and you are being forced out of your own home?

These are problems that GLBT people face every day of their lives. It sickens me more than I can even begin to explain that some day my child may be denied the right to love whom ever they choose simply because someone else says that it is wrong? I mean to me the issues at hand are the same as they were in the 50's when it came to interracial marriages. People who did not support this claimed "the bible says it is wrong" (there is more coming on this topic as someone I know is currently reading a book called "what the bible REALLY says about homosexuality and so far it wasn't the actual 'act' of homosexuality that is wrong but the fact that it was 'used' to worship a fertility god and therefor worshiping a god other than then GOD was wrong), it will degrade the sense of family and morals in the country and on and on.

Today in my email inbox I received an email from an organization called The Human Rights Campaign and that is where I learned of a TRUE STORY of the above 'story'... Eric Breidenbaugh. You too can see the story of Eric here http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1463371054/bclid1463262283/bctid1466839263

And for those of you feel strongly on this subject claiming it is 'wrong in the eyes of God" remember God said "hate the sin, love the sinner" and "let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone", oh yea, and my favorite... "Love thy enemies"

Be on the look out in the next few days for a blog post about the 'review' of the book "What the Bible REALLY says about homosexuality"...

The "REAL LIFE WOMAN'S" Workout

The "Real Life Woman's" Workout

Find Ways to be Ineffecient
-- By Carrie Myers Smith, Exercise & Health Writer

Recently, while bringing the wood in for our woodstove, a friend of ours said, "With all those boys, you’re bringing in the wood?" By "all those boys," he was referring to our four sons. I quickly explained to him that while we do have the boys help out with the wood, I often volunteer to do it myself, because it gives me some exercise on the days I don’t otherwise work out. In fact, I purposely only carry in two pieces of wood at a time, so that I have to make extra trips in and out, increasing its cardio effect. "Consider it the Country-Girl’s Workout!" I quipped. Well, we both got a good chuckle out of that, but it brought up a very valid point: you can find fitness in many aspects of your own life that you may not normally consider. Here’s another example:

At one of my sons' soccer tournaments, we had to park quite a ways from the field, because the parking lots were filled up (not to mention they were playing at the field furthest from where we were parked!). My reaction? "Cool! Time to get a little cardio action in!" I offered to carry the chairs and backpack, knowing it would just give me that much more of a workout. But the reaction of those around me wasn’t quite so positive. "I can’t believe we have to walk so far just to get to the field!" and "We should have just driven around – there must have been some empty spots somewhere that would have been closer."

My kids can give many examples of times we walk when it’s not really necessary, usually when running errands and shopping. You see, when you change your mind about physical activity, you will inevitably change your body. Studies show that just by adding moderate activity to your daily repertoire, you will positively change your health status. This moderate activity includes doing things such as parking further from your destination and hoofing it, taking the stairs rather than the elevator, raking your lawn, hoeing your garden, doing your housework with vigor. Yes, I said vigor! What? Haven’t you ever done the polka with your vacuum?

Here’s another one: purposely being inefficient. That can be a tough one to swallow, because we work so hard in our society to be efficient. My bringing in wood is a good example of inefficiency. Maybe you don’t heat with wood. How about purposely making extra trips from the car to the house with the grocery bags? Rather than load up on as many bags as you possibly can (and we all know how many we can carry, just barely brushing the ground and yet, not really touching it at all!), carry just one in each hand, briskly walking to and from the house.

You see, finding fitness throughout your day doesn’t just happen by chance. You must make it happen! You must live consciously, rather than subconsciously (or in some of our cases unconsciously!), living intentionally, rather than unintentionally. Just floating through your days without really thinking about what you’re doing will keep you heading on the same course you’re currently headed, in which case you must ask yourself: is the destination desirable?

One for Uncle Brian

It is no secret that hockey is a big deal in the Krumwiede family...hell my 2 year old nephew you can already do some pretty fancy straight shots with a stick and a puck! It is awesome!! Well today Brody was having a lot of tummy issues (mommy had some chocolate...sorry buddy) and was crying and having a rough morning. Well around lunch time I was flipping through the channels and happened upon FSN ( I now know that you do not call it Fox sports network... it is just Fox Sports) and needed to set Brody down so I could feed the girls and get them down for their nap etc. A MN Wilds game happened to be on and for the first time all morning Brody was quiet....he watched the game until he fell asleep... so he either liked it so much that it calmed him down enough to sleep or it bored him to sleep... I am sure that his daddy, Grandpa and Uncles are going to say that it settled him to sleep :)

Oh for the love of lies....

There is one thing about politics that really bugs me and that is all the mud-slinging and the rumors that are started and sent around. I really do not understand this part of politics. But I just need to clear the air with some of the major mis-truths that have been spread about Barack Obama ( I am sure there are some rumors etc out there about the others running for office, but you'll have to find a blog that supports them to find them). There is actually a really easy way for me to put an end to the three major lies out there...and I will let Barack's own words tell you his feelings on these lies....

It is very obvious that Barack has his hand placed on his heart in this picture.

He has been quoted "My grandfather taught me at the age of 2, during the Pledge you cross your hand over your heart and during the National Anthem you sing....

Obama's true feelings on Abortion...

A More Perfect Union

If we didn't already know it... this man is a wonderful speaker and has an awesome message... YES WE CAN!!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE NEW LAYOUT

A very special THANK YOU to Hilary for the very special layout of the blog! It is great and I love it!! Thank you so much!!! http://myblog-hilary.blogspot.com/

A Gym funny....

Today I went the the YMCA for my exercise time and I couldn't help but laugh over the fact that there were two ladies dang near fighting over this parking spot in the front row.... You are AT THE GYM and 50% of the people at the gym are going to walk during some part of their routine...but apparently those 15 extra steps are going to push them over their limit... LOL

Just a lil FYI for you... I did park that the extreme corner of the lot and walked into the building, and then did my workout for about an hour and then walked back... LOL

Obama endorsement by Two Year Olds!!!

We had family in town this weekend for Brody's baptism and Brian and Tracy (our brother and sister in law) are big Obama supporters as are we (if you couldn't tell) but apparently they talk about it a whole lot more with their kiddos than we do... Here is our nephew Kellen suggesting who you should vote for.... how can you not when the kid is so damn cute!!! His sister Shea did it really good too, but for some reason that video won't load... :(

Delainey's First swimming lesson

Delainey had her first ever swimming lesson on March 15, 2008. She had a blast! She is not at all afraid of the water **not really a shock to us as the kid has been a fish since her Uncle Ryan bought her, her first pool when she was only 6 months old**. She listened well and did just as the teacher expected her too, for the most part. The child could use a little fear when it comes to the water, as she would let go of the wall and let herself float where ever as the teacher was helping other children. The only things we are going to have to work on with her is the getting her face under the water for 15 seconds and the back float, but she'll get it!! She is so quick to pick up on things!

Delainey in her suit before the lessons...

Delainey during her turn to do the back float...

Delainey holding onto the wall while waiting for her next turn...can you tell this kid knew I was taking pictures... LOL (as Chad said, how can she not... I am always taking pictures LOL)

Brody's Baptism **March 15,2008**

Brody was crying in all the photos... mostly because his outfit was polyester and was making him far to warm...poor lil guy! This picture is of Father Ed (our parish Priest), Brody, Myself and Chad
The Baptism "crew"... Brody is very blessed to have 5 amazing Godparents...he is a very lucky little boy to have all these amazing people looking out for him.

** A very special thank you to everyone who attended the service and reception afterwards. It meant so very much to all of us to have you there. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH**

Luck of the Irish....

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY my fellow Irish friends and family!!! Please enjoy this day!! May the luck of the Irish be with you always and forever....

An Old Irish Blessing....
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Black is the new president

You've got to watch this!!! It is hilarious!!! Oh.. and remember YES WE CAN!!!!

Myths of Barack Obama

Today more than ever I feel the need to help put many of the myths, lies, and rumors of Barack Obama to rest using his own words. As we all know that during political 'times' rumors and falsehoods are easily passed around with the quick click of the reply buttons of our email systems. So here is some information I received from my sister--in-law when I questions some rumors that I had this past weekend about Obama.... Please click the link and read some correct information, please.

Bath Time w/ Shelby and Aver

Enjoy a video of Shel and Av in the tub!
And yes..their water is purple...
WE LOVE TUB TINTS!!!

Oh, and they really do know the answers to the questions I was asking, they were just far to busy with the purple water and their disposable wash cloths.

Dear Lady at Target...

I am so very sorry that my children and I were offending you with our mere presence in line behind you. I am sorry that you were offended by the fact that my twins were eating cookies ( which just for your knowledge I had already paid for and had the receipt) in line and accidently dropped one that broke and the crumb hit your shoe. I am so very sorry that my newborn son was crying (he had after all been quiet for the entire 65 minute trip around the store and we stood in line behind you for 10 minutes STANDING STILL). I am also sorry that you were bothered by the fact that my four year old tried to say hello to you~~ my guess is that she thought you wanted to talk to her/us since you were staring at us an awful lot. I am even more sorry that you didn't understand the concept of if you had been writing your check while the wonderful cashier was ringing up your items (rather than ignoring her and being rude by continuing to talk on your cell phone) we wouldn't have been standing there for the extra 4 minutes it took for you to write your check, put your wallet away, zip your purse only to be asked to check your ID...or have you ever heard of a wonderful thing called a check card??? They work wonders...after all it only took my 2 minutes to check out after you left...
I am sure that when you were a mom (if you even were) your children never spoke or did anything that they were not allowed. I am sure that you are/were a much better mother than I am. Just thought I'd give you a heads up we often go to Target 3-4 times a week and in the event that you see our red/wine colored mini-van in the parking lot you may after all just want to skip the trip and just go back home. Or if you are planning on going to Target, please feel free to tell me and I will make sure that I am my children aren't there....

Oh and one more thing "kind" lady at Target... when you talk about someone... you should really make sure that they can't hear you... I was in line behind you at the Starbucks counter... Oh..and lastly... yes my children all have the same father--- he happends to be my husband!!! Have a very nice day and I only hope that some day someone can treat you as kindly has you have treated my children and I today!

Graciously yours-
Kristin Wentz-Krumwiede

Chunky Monkey!!!

is Brody's new nickname. Brody was weighed today and he is 14 1/2 lbs (this is the 67%). I know that this isn't a 'huge' baby, but after having two peanuts like Shelby and Avery it is awesome to have ourselves a 'chunky' baby.... Oh and I know that some of you are wondering when Brody is going to pass Shelby and Avery up in the weight department... my guess is soon... LOL Brody officially weighs more than Shelby and Avery did at 8 months old.... :)

Crucial Tips For Women **A MUST READ**

Crucial

Because of recent abductions

in daylight hours, refresh yourself

of these things to do

in an emergency situation...

This is for you,

and for you to share

with your wife,

your children,

everyone you know.

After reading these crucial tips,

forward them to someone you care about.

It never hurts to be careful

in this crazy world we live in.

1
. Tip from Tae Kwon Do:

The elbow is the strongest point

on your body.

If you are close enough to use it, do!

2.
Learned this from a tourist guide

in New Orleans.

If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,

DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM

Toss it away from you....

chances are that he is more interested

in your wallet and/or purse than you,

and he will go for the wallet/purse.

RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car,

kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.

The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.

This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars

after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit

(doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.

DON'T DO THIS!)

The predator will be watching you, and this

is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go.

AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,

LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.

If someone

is in the car

with a gun

to your head

DO NOT DRIVE OFF,

repeat:

DO NOT DRIVE OFF!

Instead gun the engine

and speed into anything, wrecking the car.

Your Air Bag will save you.

If the person is in the back seat

they will get the worst of it

As soon as the car crashes

bail out and run.

It is better than having them find your body

in a remote location.

5
. A few notes about getting

into your car in a parking lot,

or parking garage:

A.) Be aware:

look around you,

look into your car,

at the passenger side floor,

and in the back seat

B.) If you are parked next to a big van,

enter your car from the passenger door.

Most serial killers attack their victims

by pulling them into their vans while the women

are attempting to get into their cars.

C.) Look at the car

parked on the driver's side of your vehicle,

and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone

in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back

into the mall, or work, and get a

Guard/Policeman to walk you back out.

IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6.
ALWAYS take the elevator

Instead of the stairs.

(Stairwells are horrible places to be alone

and the perfect crime spot.

This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7.
If the predator has a gun

and you are not under his control,

ALWAYS RUN!

The predator will only hit you (a running target)

4 in 100 times; and even then,

it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.

RUN, preferably in a zigzag pattern!

8.
As women, we are always trying

to be sympathetic:

STOP

It may get you raped, or killed.

Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking,

well educated man, who ALWAYS played

on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.

He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often

asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle,

which is when he abducted
his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point:

Someone just told me that her friend heard

a crying baby on her porch the night before last,

and she called the police because it was late

and she thought it was weird. The police told her

"Whatever you do, DO NOT

open the door."

The lady then said that it sounded like the baby

had crawled near a window, and she was worried

that it would crawl to the street and get run over.

The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way,

whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."

He told her that they think a serial killer

has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax

women out of their homes thinking that someone

dropped off a baby He said they have not verified it,

but have had several calls by women saying that

they hear baby's cries outside their doors

when they're home alone at night.

Please pass this on and DO NOT
open the door

for a crying baby ----

This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because

the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on

America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled

the serial killer in Louisiana

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know.

It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle.

I was going to send this to the ladies only,

but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.,

you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

Send this
to any woman you know that may need

to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it

and it's better to be safe than sorry..

Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or love one's life.
