30 Day EA Active Challenge - Day 1

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!

Thanks to the evil wonderful ladies (and guys) over in hell at the Sisterhood I manned up to the current challenge and joined the 30 day EA active Challenge. I have to be honest... I have had this game for a few months and it sat proudly collecting dust waiting for the right time for me to bust it open... well today was the day. After I emailed Melissa for instructions on how to get started *She told me to open the box--- and guess what, after opening it...it was WAY easier to figure out*

I am glad that I did this exercise routine after I got the kids in bed, because otherwise I would have had to sit nasty sweaty/sticky *bet my BIL/SIL are glad they stopped to check out my blog after that mental picture* gross because my children can not be trusted long enough for me to shower...

It was a good workout, and I am already looking forward to it again tomorrow :) I did all the challenges and burned 200.2 calories... it took me roughly 24 minutes to complete all the tasks and I really need to work on the running... I know I was running faster than it was computing...*should have asked the hubby before he went to bed*....

So there you go folks... day one of the challenge is DONE :) GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ELSE!!!

Shrink for Good Challenge....

Shrink for Good with the Sisterhood!

**I obviously stole this post from THE SISTERHOOD, but only because there is so much amazing information on it and that I want for as many people to join in for this challange as possible... I am almost certain that Melissa will not beat me down for it since it is for a good cause RIGH?!?! SO TO PREVENT ME GETTING BEAT UP I THINK YOU SHOULD JOIN THIS CHALLENGE... It is a good one :)**

Our new challenge starts TODAY! I cannot even TELL you how excited I am for this challenge. Not only will we be improving our own health, we are going to giving back to our communities while we do it! It’s a win-win, right?

Lose For Good launches today and will run through October 17, 2009. Last year was the debut of the campaign and it produced AMAZING results. Members lost over 4 MILLION pounds, Weight Watchers donated $1 million to charities focused on fighting hunger, and 1,500,000 pounds of food to local food banks! The funds contributed by Weight Watchers represent the difference between life and death for up to 6,000 children! This year, they are hoping to make it even bigger and better.

This is where we come in. We are having our own spin-off of the Lose For Good campaign called Shrink For Good. The challenge starts TODAY and will run 7 weeks until October 17, 2009. So go, GO step on your scale. Look at the number. Come back here and leave a comment with your starting weight (we need this for tracking our total #s lost!), if you don’t feel comfortable putting the number out there, shoot me an email (melissa@shrinkingjeans.net) with it. I promise I will keep it a secret and it will be for my eyes only.

The details: After today, we will weigh-in on Wednesdays, as usual. We like to keep it simple. Each week, after you weigh-in, we encourage you to go out and BUY NON-PERISHABLE FOOD products (think canned goods, etc… preferably HEALTHY!) in an amount equaling the amount of weight you lost.
1 pound = 16 ounces

So if you lost two-and-a-half pounds, you would need 40 oz. of food items. Simple, no?
A lot of times during our weigh-ins, we hear “only down 1 pound” or something to that effect. What some people may not realize, is that those “little losses” add up. Let’s think about it this way… a stick of butter weighs 4 oz. Every POUND you lose is FOUR STICKS OF BUTTER, people! If you lose 4 pounds total the next 7 weeks, that is equal to SIXTEEN sticks of butter! Four pounds may not seem like a significant amount of weight, but when you imagine carrying those sixteen sticks of butter EVERY DAY, ALL DAY, that helps put it in perspective. We want you to actually “feel” the amount of weight that you are losing.

Each week, you will be adding to your food collection as you weigh-in. At the end of 7 weeks, you will hopefully have a nice stack of non-perishable food items! Are you still with me? Here’s the AWESOME part: You are going to donate these food items that you are going to WORK SO HARD for to your local food bank! You will be turning yourself into a healthier version of you AND helping out those in need in your own community. If you are a WW member and attend meetings, talk to your leader about dropping your food off there! (You do not have to be a WW member to participate in our Shrink For Good challenge.)

Ideas for food items:
Fruit and Vegetables Group: Canned or dry fruits and vegetables in an array of colors will help ensure consumption of many vitamins and minerals.
Canned vegetables
Vegetable juice
Canned tomatoes (juice and sauce)
Canned fruit and fruit cups (in its own juice)
Fruit juice
Dried fruit

Grain Group: Whole grains provide maximum nutrition value and long-lasting energy.
Oatmeal Whole grain crackers
Low sugar/high fiber cereals
All pasta types
Whole grain rice

Protein Group: Lean meats and canned or dry beans provide the necessary fuel for muscles.
Canned tuna, salmon or chicken
Bean soups
Baked beans
Dried and canned beans and peas.
Chili Beef stew
Peanut butter Nuts

This is a lot of new info to digest, I know. Let’s recap:
YOU = Focus on healthy eating, exercise, and well-being.
LOG your starting weight today. (or when you jump into this challenge if you are reading this later!)
WEIGH-IN on Wednesdays with us.
COLLECT non-perishable items in the amount of weight lost for the next 7 weeks. Photos encouraged, but not mandatory. ;o)
ENCOURAGE your fellow Sisters and Brothers.
GRAB one of our new buttons created by our own amazing Christy.
DONATE your food collection at the end of this challenge.
Stay tuned for even more fun things happening with Lose For Good in the coming weeks! If you have ANY questions AT ALL, whether it’s finding a food bank in your area or help with all this math, we are here. Just ask. For realz, yo. And pssst… our EA Sports Active challenge is starting tomorrow, it’s not too late to jump in!
Let’s get this party started… It’s time to SHRINK FOR GOOD!

Delainey's First Day of Kindergarten

check out the skulls and crossbones on both her sweater, necklace and on her back pack. Our girl is starting with the 'goth' look already :) Is it bad that my preacher's wife friend said this?!?!? :) Is this what happens when a 'catholic' and a 'lutheran' have babies together ;)

My baby girl on her first day... she even let me have a hug and a kiss in front of ALL her class.

I think Daddy had a harder time with today than either Delainey or I did...

I want for this to be a tradition... this wall with all the kids each first day of school :)

In Delainey's class they don't have desk for kindergarten...they sit at tables. Here she is in front of her name tag. She was less than impressed that the kid who sits next to her ENTIRE name is shorter than just her first name :) The dad tried to make Delainey feel better by saying... well you can spell and write your name... *insert child's name here* can't.. :)
Delainey was more than happy to be getting back into school... she has been bored for some time and is certainly glad to be be back in school. Her first day went really well. She was glad that she didn't drop her lunch tray and even got to play 3 times outside (Thurs is gym day so they get two recesses and one gym outside)... she has asked to pack a lunch tonight for tomorrow because she doesn't like cheesy bread which is being served :) Her teacher said she did very well and had a very good day.
My baby girl is in kindergarten... these firsts are all to bittersweet...
Congratulations on your first day of 'real' school baby girl... WE LOVE YOU!!!

21 day challenge FINAL

Today marks the end of the 21 day challenge that was issued 21 days ago over at the Sisterhood
... the point of the challenge was that you can start a new 'habit' in as short as 21 days, so they issued the challenge for us to accomplish that... so the goals that I had set for myself for the 21 day challenge was to lose some weight and also to learn the new habits that I set for myself... well I did lose some weight... but not alot... I started the challenge at 243.6 and was on a good pace by losing 3.2 lbs the first week... but then last week I totally bit myself in the butt and GAINED 8lbs.... 8 freaking pounds?!?!? I couldn't even believe that you could gain 8 lbs in one week... but I did... so when I stepped on the scale today and saw the number say 241.3 I was more than pleased with it... that means that I have only lost 2.3lbs for the challenge but a loss is a loss if you ask me.

As for the goals that I set for myself I did fairly well with those as well:

Water intake = they suggested a minimum of 64 ozs, my goal is 200 ozs. ACCOMPLISHED
Fruits and Vegetables = 5 servings a day ACCOMPLISHED MOST DAYS
Dairy = 3 low-fat servings a day NOT SO MUCH...still working on it though
Eat breakfast --- this is gonna be a biggie for me.... MOST DAYS...
Take a Multi-vitamin-- have been doing this for the most part TOTALLY ACCOMPLISHED
Exercise = at least 30 minutes a day, and do my couch to 5K program ALMOST EVERY DAY..
No Nachos or chocolate cupcakes ROCKED IT!!!!
Sleep = more than I am now...shouldn't be too hard to do this one :) NOT SO MUCH...
Go Whole = eat whole grains... MOST DAYS, but still working on it.
Strech your body, try it for 5 minutes every morning ACCOMPLISHED

So over all for the challenge I have to say that I am fairly impressed with myself and my accomplishments... here is to the next challenge and better results for everyone :)

**warning...swearing, bitching and moaning ahead...read following post at your own risk and please do not read out loud with children present... there is cursing and some things I say just aren't very 'motherly'....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
YAY!!! It is Tuesday... I LOVE Tuesdays.... wanna know why??? Because of TOTALLY TICKS ME OFF TUESDAY but of course... who doesn't look forward to that day of the week in which they can totally 'get their bitch on' without everyone getting all huffy about it and being mad... well today is MY day and look out world because I am about to let 'er rip. Look out folks... this one is gonna be a doozy...
You may remember a few months ago when I blogged that poem/essay about my grandfather that I said how proud he was of his family... of how his family was his greatest accomplishment and how even when they 'messed up' he was always so proud of us .... ummm yea... probably not right now... THINK ABOUT THIS PEOPLE!!! REALLY THINK...
Shouldn't family help pick you up when you are down??? I mean seriously... is it really the best thing to do to kick someone over and over and over when they can't even catch their breath? Really... honestly...
Don't you hate it when you 'keep' the reciept for something knowing that you may encounter a problem with it.... only to have lost the reciept when the problem occurs and you are stuck with a $200 purchase that you can't do anything with??yup... happended AGAIN
I am having a really hard time 'building' my Tastefully Simple business right now... no matter what I do, it seems like I keep hitting dead ends and walls... there is an awesome new program for hostesses coming out Sept 1st, and also the new fall/winter line so I am hoping that will spark some interest for me to get some new parties booked etc... Here's hoping right.
and last but not least... (this isn't really a bitch but more of a praise)... after having seen my last Totally ticks me off Tuesday, the person who had been leaving glasses with milk in them has FINALLY begun to rinse them out... they aren't in the dishwasher yet, but at least they are rinsed out :)
THERE... now that I have gotten all that off my chest, hopefully the rest of the week can flow..especially since I start back up with classes as does Chad, and Delainey starts school on Thursday... Wish us luck for the rest of the week :)

I cried...

I took the picture below this past Thursday while traveling with my husband and children to visit the Twin Cities... I didn't understand it at the time... but there was a reason I took over 20 pictures of these rainbows in a 10 mile period...
I had a dream this morning ( I say this morning because I only went to bed at 4am)... in this dream my grandmother was asking me to do something that I did not want to do... but because she had asked me to, I did it. You see I made a promise to my grandfather that I would try to be less defiante where my grandmother is concerned... so I reluctently did as I was asked in the dream... I can't remember what it was that I was asked... I just remember that I didn't want to do it...but I did it anyways.... all of a sudden the scene in my dream changed and I was sitting in a field staring at two rainbows...close together but not touching...and in the background I could hear the song "Butterfly kisses"... there were people all around me... I looked around and saw all these people not really recognizing anyone until the man beside me made eye contact... it was my grandfather. I obviously cuddled close in for an amazing hug and heard his voice tell me that he loves me so much and started to cry in my dream... I sadly woke up far to soon... because you see I was crying and my tears had soaked my pillow and the dampness on the pillow had roused me from my sleep... I quickly flipped my pillow over and closed my eyes in hope to fall asleep and get back to my dream... but like all good dreams... this one had come to an end... far to soon for me...
But because of this dream, I was able to visit my grandfather's grave today... I layed on the freshly growing grass and cried some more... but with my tears and sobbing came a sense of relief...a calm came over me... I cried for quite a while as I layed there in the grass...but eventually I was able to pick myself up off the earth and make my way back to my van and come home... it was because of my dream that I was able to finally cry... and as sick as it sounds... it felt good.

The Obedient Wife...

**A Friend sent this to me via email the other day, and I just had to share it with you all .... mostly because I could see my husband and I going through a similar situation**

'The Obedient Wife'
There was a man, who had worked all his life,
had saved all of his money, and was a real miser when
it came to his money Just before he died, he said to his wife...'When I die, I want you
to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to
take my money to the afterlife with me.' And so he got his wife to promise him, with all of her heart,
that when he died, she would put all of the
money into the casket with him. Well, he died. LHe was stretched out in the casket, his wife was sitting there
dressed in black, and her friend was sitting next to her.
When they finished the ceremony, and just before the
undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said, 'Wait just a moment!'
She had a small metal box with her; she came over with the box
and put it in the casket. Then the undertakers locked the casket
down and they rolled it away. So her friend said, 'Girl, I know you were
not foolish enough to put all that money in
there with your husband.' The loyal wife replied, 'Listen, I'm a Christian; I cannot go back on my word. I promised him that I was
going to put that money into the casket with him.'
You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with him!?!?!?'
'I sure did,' said the wife.
'I got it all together, put it into my account,
and wrote him a check.
If he can cash it, then he can spend it.'

Send this to every clever female you know, and to every man who thinks they are smarter than women!!!

HELP I'VE BEEN BUSTED!!!

HELP! A warrant for my arrest has been issued by the March of Dimes for aiding and abetting the fight against prematurity.

I have been found GUILTY of wanting every baby to be born full-term and healthy! To avoid doing hard time for my crimes I must raise my bail quickly. YOU CAN HELP bail me out – or contribute to my incarceration. Visit my cell online at http://jailandbail.marchofdimes.com/krumwiedekids today.
YOU KNOW I'D DO TIME FOR ALL THE MIRACLES IN MY LIFE... BUT LET'S GIVE THESE BABES A FIGHTING CHANCE!!!

"not me" Monday...

It is that time of week again in which we bust out our amazing link to MckMama’s blog and get to tell the world what we (or our children) most certainly did NOT do this week, for example I know that I did NOT wipe my child’s runny nose at a family picnic using just my fingers, and since I did NOT do that I know for certain that I didn’t wipe what I removed from child’s face directly onto my jeans….see stuff like that… those things that we would NEVER do.

MckMama has worked it out all fun and has a link system all set up, so all you’ve got to do is stop over at HER BLOG, add your blog address to the set, snag yourself the linky and get started…. Enjoy! It is almost like therapy…it IS therapy. And remember to stop back at her blog over the day so that you can see what our internet buddies most certainly did NOT do themselves… Have an awesome Monday everyone…

I most certainly caught up on my laundry and I can see the beautiful floor of my laundry room in the basement.... NOT (oh how I wish this task had been accomplished)....

Last week was a hot one in our neck of the woods... in fact is was pretty much the first time all summer than it actually felt like summer outside... so I most certainly did not have a bunch of kids in my back yard turning it into a mud puddle while trying to enjoy some fun in the sun...

I most certainly did NOT leave the house 4 nights of the 5 last week and hope while I was gone that the children would be asleep when I got home... sadly only one of those nights were the children in bed...well if I had done that, because you know that I did NOT do that.

I did NOT have a in depth conversation with a district manager this past week about the horrible service that I recieved at a local resturant. Nor did I come to the realization that it is only when I am 'nice' about things do I get treated like crud... so I am going with my friend Amanda's thoughts in that you've got to be a "B-word" to accomplish things. Thankfully if I would have had this conversation things would now be resolved and hopefully the situation will never happen again.... well if it had happened to begin with...

I most certainly am NOT dragging my four children to a parent seminar tonight to be watched by complete strangers so no other 'adults' have to be responsible for them... nor will they all be out past their bed time since the seminar is from 5:30pm-9:00pm...well you know... if there was a seminar, which there isn't.

I most certainly am not completely disgusted by the actions of a person I know regarding alot of people... this person has been my 'hero' for some time (well if this were the case he would probably have been my hero since I was born, but since it did not happen he isn't)... it just makes me sick...well if it were happening that is...

Have an awesome Monday everyone... see ya next week for more "not me", because I know we are NOT going to have some doozies since we are going on a min-vacation to the Twin Cities.

Kidlet picture

Yesterday we drove 3 hours north to attend my grandmother's family reunion. The drive wasn't too bad and the kids were able to play and have fun. My cousin Branden said it best "ummm pretty sure we could have done this at my dad's house and had just as much fun"... to which I replied with "Yep...and your dad would have served steaks not sloppy joes"... :)

Here is my attempt to get a picture of my four children all together... see for yourself how well it turned out... ha!
Attempt #1

Attempt #2

Attempt #3

if only I could get Delainey's face from #1 onto #3 it would be perfect... well close too it :)

Fitness Friday

Today is Friday and over at the Sisterhood they dummbed today Fitness Friday and have issued a mini challenge to find yourself a fitness buddy.... So I too am passing this along...

I have several friends who are on the road to fitness with me, but sadly they are all far more advanced than I in the fitness area for example my 'running' friends... run... like the whole 5K run and get awesome times...me I am lucky if I don't die while running it... lol.

Find yourself a fitness buddy and get started

MY BIL ROCKS

Have I told you all just how awesome my brother-in-law is? I mean really... honestly. He is the BEST... I mean come on...he would have to be since we have picked him and his wife as the gaurdian of all four of our kids if god forbid something would happen to Chad and I and they even accepted... :)

But no really... he is one of the best people I have ever had the chance to meet in my entire life and I am even lucky enough to get to call him my brother.

He is one of the most selfless people I know, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and I know that when it came down to it he would ALWAYS be in my corner (even if he didn't like it or agree with my completely)... My children are blessed to have one of the BEST uncles a kid could ever have... He loves them just as much as he does his own children and Delainey often comments about how she was his 'practice baby' ... she has a picture of the two of them from when she was about 12 months old that is taped to her bed.... he is THAT special to her...he always has been... she loves that guys hands down!

That's it... just needed to toot the horn about my awesome brother-in-law :)

Weigh In Wednesday

21 Days with the Sisterhood!

Today marks the second weigh in for the 21 days Challenge over at Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. While the challenge has already started you can still join us... I know that everyone would love to have you. The goal of this challenge was to 'learn' new habits, and that is why the challenge is 21 days... it only take 21 days to 'learn' a new habit...

This week I am down 3.2 pounds and am really happy with that... which means that my weight is sitting right at 240.4. I just wanna scream to get under 240 and tell those numbers to just disappear for ever.. Good luck everyone!

Totally Ticks Me Off Tuesday

First and foremost... I absolutely get totally ticked off when someone (who shall remain nameless) at my house refuses to rinse out their damn milk glass... I mean come the frick on...RINSE THE DAMN THING OUT ALREADY!!!! 9 years of NOT rinsed out milk glasses is driving me completely insane... 9 YEARS PEOPLE!!!!
Here is another items that has really gotten stuck in my butt this past week... if you step around a toy the first time and then end up stepping ON the same said toy (and are an adult) you don't get to bitch a moan about the fact that you stepped on it... there are two awesome options for this problem... 1)when you step over the toy THE FIRST TIME ask one of the children to pick it up and put it where it belongs, since it is VERY obvious that the child(ren) are done playing with said toy or 2) Pick the damn thing up youself.... I mean seriously...
Do NOT lecture me about 'yelling' at my children when 1)you NEVER talked to me as a child 2)you yell at them all the time and 3) you haven't been dealing with the same damn fight that I have since 9am... and in my own defense... I wasn't even 'yelling'... trust me... I know how to yell.
And this one is almost a second part of the above tick... when I ask you not to yell at my children, do not respond with "Oh that is rich coming from you".... umm hello? In the event that I did yell at my child(ren) it is more 'my right' than yours and I am trying really hard not to parent the way that I was parented... unless of course you parented a DIFFERENT child other than me, or unless I have suffered a SERVERE brain injury in the past oh say 20 years and remember things quite differently than they actually were... oh plain and simply BITE ME!!!
Oh....boy .... Do I feel better!!! :) Anyone else care to get your bitch on with me???

Imagination Island...

Otherwise known as our back yard. I have had the pleasure of watching a friend's boys while she works a few hours a week and let me tell you the kids are having a blast with it. At first I thought I may possibly be crazy because having the extra kids put me at 7 children 8 and under, but honestly.... it has been one of the BEST choices I have ever made... It works so well for everyone... Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago ( I wanted to post them earlier but kept forgetting to ask permission to post them since the boys are in them)...

Here are the kids getting 'fuel' for their rocket ship...
Apparently Avery was hungry because even "rocket fuel' sounded yummy to her.

This group of kids plays amazing together... they are all very imaginative and there is never a dull moment with them... Delainey has already asked if the boys are coming 'next summer so their mom can work..." :) I certainly hope so!!

Not Me Monday....

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This Not Me Monday is likely to look more like a "Totally Ticks Me off Tuesday", but it has been a rough one people... seriously.

This past Monday I most certain did not argue with one of the children in my house for 95 minutes about the fact that she had to pick up the paper that she tore up in a fit of rage. Why the rage you ask??? Apparently her sister LOOKED at the picture she was drawing and said that it looked nice... and just for the record...it was not Shelby..

I most certainly did NOT forget to turn the dishwasher on after loading it 3 nights this past week. Honestly, I think that I shouldn't have to take FULL responsiblity for this because maybe just maybe if someone else in the house knew what the dishwasher was/did/worked I wouldn't be the only one who would have to remember.

I most certainly did not tell two of my children they could sleep with me if they promised to just go to sleep because I was tired.

I most certainly did not almost avoid going to my high school reunion because 'someone' was throwing a fit about the situation... no I was not the was throwing the fit... for real I wasn't.

I most certainly am NOT seriously considering making 'cereal' for dinner tonight instead of the beef strogonoff that is on the menu plan.

And last but not least... I most certainly did not place my 20 month old son in his high chair (in the kitchen) give him a bunch of cheerios, and come out to the living room to post this message... Nope NOT this Mama :)

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

Happy Birthday Papa...

Today was a rough day... today would have been my grandfather's 72nd birthday. I had this awesome plan to take the girls to get balloons and take them to the cemetary and put them on his grave along with a cup cake. I ended up going by myself.... I couldn't bring them. They have never been to the cemetary, and I wasn't sure how to explain why we were visiting some dirt on Papa's birthday when they know he is in heaven... they were never told the 'legistics' of what went on.
So here I am in my car with 1 mylar balloon and 6 latex balloons, and a cupcake. I start to pull up the drive way of the cemetary and I get about 1/2 way up the hill and I can't go anymore. I actually had to reverse down the driveway because I couldn't do it.... I just couldn't. So instead I drove for a bit north of town, pulled to the side of the road, wrote a little note and attached it to the balloons, stepped out of my car, removed the weight from the balloons and just let them go....and the cupcake you ask??? I left it by the side of the road too. Not exactly where I had planned to let everything 'go' or be placed... but it was where I 'let it go'....
Happy Birthday grandpa... I hope heaven is as wonderful as you believed it would be... You are missed and loved...our hearts are still broken, but we will NEVER NEVER EVER forget you. WE LOVE YOU PAPA!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Today is also my mother-in-law's birthday. We were unable to attend the family dinner this evening (obviously since they live 500 miles away) but we are planning on being in the Cities in two weeks so we can celebrate with them then.

WHAT?!?!? NO TWITTER?!?!?!

I stole this from my friend Lissa because like her I am lost with out my ability to "Tweet"

The popular social networking site Twitter has been hit by a denial of service attack, according to Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.

In an e-mail to CNN.com, Stone said this morning's attack is not related to a recent incident in which a hacker stole internal documents from the site.

"There's no indication that this attack is related to any previous activities. We are currently the target of a denial of service attack," Stone said in the e-mail.

"Attacks such as this are malicious efforts orchestrated to disrupt and make unavailable services such as online banks, credit card payment gateways, and in this case, Twitter for intended customers or users. We are defending against this attack now and will continue to update our status blog as we defend and later investigate."

Twitter's site went down around 9:30 a.m. ET on Thursday. A message posted on Twitter's status blog said the site was active again by 11:30 a.m., but that the site remained under attack.
"We are continuing to defend against and recover from this attack," the message says.
The site allows users to post 140-character messages, and many of Twitter's users have complained about feeling disconnected from the news of the day while the site is shut down.

In a blog post, Twitter says it will update the public with more information as it becomes available.A denial of service attack essentially is an attempt to flood a Web site with so much information that it must shut down.

Sisterhood 21 day Challenge-- weigh in 1

21 Days with the Sisterhood!

This gals (and guys) over at the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans have issued a new challenge starting today. This challenge is being called "21 days"... This is based on the pretense that it only take 21 days to start a new habit, and in this case the sisterhood wants for us to create/follow GOOD habits. So at the beginning of this challenge my weight is 243.6 (yes this is up from last week by 2.6 lbs, but ummm well you know what I mean... and I know that weight will be gone in just a few short days)... but I have also chosen to accept the challenge of making the change of making the 10 Good Habits that the Sisterhood has picked out, and they are:

  1. Water intake = they suggested a minimum of 64 ozs, my goal is 200 ozs.
  2. Fruits and Vegetables = 5 servings a day
  3. Dairy = 3 low-fat servings a day
  4. Eat breakfast --- this is gonna be a biggie for me....
  5. Take a Multi-vitamin-- have been doing this for the most part
  6. Exercise = at least 30 minutes a day, and do my couch to 5K program
  7. No Nachos or chocolate cupcakes
  8. Sleep = more than I am now...shouldn't be too hard to do this one :)
  9. Go Whole = eat whole grains
  10. Strech your body, try it for 5 minutes every morning.

Feel free to pop in over at the Sisterhood and join the challenge :) The more the merrier :)

Not Me Monday...

You know the rules have already been spelled out for you over at MckMama's Blog so I am not going to ramble on about them and am going to jump right into my Not Me Monday....
This week has been a doozy... and during this past week I most certain did not think not for one single second what my life would have been like if only.... Not me... most certainly not me.
Today was not an even rougher day... I most certainly did not deal with screaming children, annoying adults (who act like children), nor did I have to deal with a stupid meeting in which no one else (aside from 4 other people) had the common sense to attend... This most certainly did not make me very upset to the point that I actually burst into tears after leaving the place of the meeting...
Tonight I most certainly did not escape to a book store, only to seek out a book that I knew would make me think about things that I don't want to think about. Although... even though I did seek out yet another book on Sensory Processing Disorder, I did actually find one written BY PARENTS (both the authors have a child with SPD) FOR PARENTS/Families with SPD. While a good book... it is not the 'easy read' I was looking for when I headed into the book store...
I most certainly am not completely anxious about the appointment that Shelby has tomorrow with the cardiologist... in fact I can (Not) honestly tell you that I am not freaking out and scared beyond belief....
I most certainly did not consider throwning away all the clothes in my laundry room (nor did I tell a friend about this thought) as the only way of me EVERY catching up on all the laundry...
I am most certainly not thankful that today is over and that tomorrow is another (scary) day...

thought for the day...

If one day u feel like crying...call me. I don't promise that I will make u laugh but I can cry with u. If one day u want to run away don't be afraid to call me. I don't promise to ask u to stop...but I can run with u. If one day u don't want to listen to anyone...call me. I promise to b there for u but also promise to remain quiet. But one day if u call...and there is no answer... Come fast to see me. Maybe I need u. Send to all ur friends no matter how often u talk. Let old friends know u haven't forgotten them and tell new friends that u never will. Remember everyone needs a friend don't ever leave the one u love for the one u like because the one u like will leave u for the one they love.(so true...)
